FEARLESS Awards - Mexico wedding photographer

International Fearless Awards

Super happy and proud to have one more for the shelf, Fearless Awards Collection 50 has honored me with their international recognition on this image captured during Kevin’s vows to Alex were spoken at their wedding ceremony, in La Mansion Vallarta.

Here we go again...

Today I am grateful of receiveing one more Fearless Award from collection 44, one (if not the only) of the hardest recongnition in wedding photography to earn. It did not came easily, as there has been some lessons that I had to struggle with, but at the end, the trouble is what makes victory so sweet, thank you to the three judges from whom I receive the award Andrea Corsi (Italy) , Ken Pak (USA) and Lina Orsino-Allen (UK), to my wife Patricia Mendez, who has always been there kicking my butt and putting me into place everytime I want to take a shortcut; beware, I threaten to be back with more of these, I don't know how long it will take me, but I will do it..!!

There has been a couple of years now since I started following the directory with most wedding photographer members, in here you will find a broad collection of unique, interesting, funny and mind-blowing images from weddings around the world.

I applied to be a member a year ago, and during the various collection I send my best images, to be considered for an award, finally, collection 33rd was the charm, and today I am very proud to share with all, my first (and hopefully not my last) Fearless Award (YAAAAAY!!!)

I am always trying to send images that the curators will find perfect to publish as Photo of the Day (now known as Right ON! gallery), something that I already accomplished a couple of times and felt great too, but I wanted to make a blog post for my first award and not just for being published.

Did I mention that is not that easy to get one of this "Fearless Awards"? seriously I am competing against all of the best wedding photographers from around the world, and for collection 33rd they only gave 123 awards from thousands and thousands (the rumor is that around 15,000 images are sent) of images sent for consideration, so yes, today I feel proud and rest assure that I will be pushing myself harder to be a better photographer day by day, always staying humble and grateful for being blessed with couples, friends and family that help me to keep doing what I love.

Marc, Joe and their unique set of friends and family choose Casa Karma in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, as their place to celebrate their union, it didn't matter how quiet and peaceful they looked before the ceremony, when it was time to party, they hit it hard (and some guests hit it soaked wet).

Destination Wedding Mexico - John & Nirm

Gay couple's abstract portrait in blue and yellow with a silhouette of one man on a window and his husband on the blue spot

I am always glad to shoot and capture destination weddings in new places I haven't been before, John and Nirmalpal asked me to photograph their wedding at Casa Muni, located in the south hills of Puerto Vallarta (Amapas). The whole celebration felt like a reunion among friends, even to me, that I had the pleasure to hear again the incredible voice of Amy Armstrong, whom had a double part on this big day, as the minister marrying them, and as the dinner entertainment singing with Bohemia Viva.

Mismaloya/Yelapa wedding - Maryam & Chris

Bride standing behind the groom at Yelapa's river

Where do I begin to tell the story of Maryam and Chris, when I witness laughs, hugs, kisses, donkeys (that is right donkeys) rivers, a waterfall, flying money and two crazy families?? I know, my type of weddings, this couple teach me that fun is essential to fall in love, that humor ease the day by day living, and that building dreams should not be that serious, I believe I have grown a little bit more just by knowing them, and had share a few jokes.
